Growing up in the sixties,I was a monster kid. Much like a lot of other boys at that time I got swept up in the monster craze that was happening in the movies,tv, and popular culture. From building all the Aurora monster models, to watching shows like the Munsters or Dark Shadows on tv,creating our own haunted houses in a neighbours garage,or frequenting the local theatre to catch any showing of a monster movie. From early on I was hooked on monsters, and from that you can draw a direct line to 1994 when I was on tour as a drummer in a rock band. With a few hours to kill before a show I set off exploring the neighbourhood in the vicinity of the club I was playing. I happened to wander into a hobby store that had a selection of monster kits. As a kid I had built the Aurora monster kits, but the models I saw that day were like the old Aurora kits on steroids. Bigger in scale, more detailed sculpts. with company names like Geometric, Horizon, and Screamin this was my first exposure to garage kits. My mind was blown, I ended up buying a MechaGodzilla kit that day and the rest they say is history. I soon discovered Amazing Figure Modeler Magazine, and it opened my eyes to a whole world of people just like me who were obsessed with building and collecting garage kits. Hundreds of kits later I have turned my obsession into a professional commision painting service. Though my specialty is female kits, I paint classic monsters, super heroes,Godzilla, comic heroes,or pop culture icons with the same passion. Collecting garage kits is one of the most exciting hobbies ever, simply because all of these iconic images that I bring to life with my paints are already imbedded in generations of popular culture and conversly our lives. Garage kits are a testament as to how powerfull these movies and images are. I love to paint garage kits, and I'd really like to paint one for you.
